Current State of Affairs

I am concerned. "Concerned" is a medical term that can mean anything from slightly worried to outright hysteria. The word is a Spocked-up, Vulcanized colloquialization, meant to make you think that doctors don't stand in rest rooms and scream their lungs out. Well, maybe not at work, but at home in the shower.

Anyway, I am *concerned*. Coronavirus has literally split itself in new ways once again, and Monkeypox has mutated the ability to survive and transmit from surfaces. As of 07/06/2022 we are looking over a cliff that we cannot survive. We have no way to clamber back up the hill. Why? The production and distribution of vaccinations is too slow. Doctors refuse to follow through to complete diagnosis. People are dying because of the insurance system. And I am running out of my favorite vape juice.

My credit number is about to take a dive, I need to give away my cats and dog, and I have to move into a hovel in order to survive. Bankruptcy is soon to come, with a two year fight to clean up my act. After that - will there be an "after that"? Will I make it that long?

The economy is close to recession, and I am becoming older by the minute. Were I young and able to hold 3 jobs I might not worry so much - if I could romance some computer geek to share the burden, things might look brighter. For now, though, I council you all to take heed: Do as I do. Get a smaller, more affordable place. Share it if you have to. Buy rice, bulgar wheat, sugar, pastas, canned goods, even tinned milk and meat. Think trade goods, too, like tuna, liverwurst, deviled ham, chicken, beef, salmon, clams, asparagus, fruit cocktail, coconut milk, spices in paste like curry, soy sauce, you name it. It should be well sealed or canned.

Personally, I plan to leave the country in two years. Going bye bye for South America. Why? Cheaper. As cheap as you can get. I speak Spanish. It fits. Not saying where, though. You can try Uruguay. It's pretty nice there. I may try it. Dunno. But America is too frenzied. I need someplace quiet to grow a nice garden and settle in. Maybe invite the family.

I pray that you and I can make it for two more years. 2023 is going to suck. 2024 will be worse. Get your collective asses in gear. Soon.
