My Raise Got Me Nothing
Did you ever notice that $15 per hour (which was fought for in several states as the base wage) now gets you just about the same as $8 did before the fight to get it raised? Yup. Corporate greed found a way to make up for that measly $7 raise, and then make it even worse (payback is a b*tch, right?) I have not eaten a balanced breakfast in 10 years. I consume a cup of coffee made at home or at work, a can of soup or small sandwich for lunch, and a one-bowl dinner consistimg of either salad, pasta, or rice. I have found myself salivating at the idea of a meat-based meal, but rarely get it unless a friend offers it, or I break my budget to splurge once in a while. The closest I come to meat in my diet is the ground meat in jarred pasta sauce, or the tiny chunks of chichen that come with packaged ramen. My meals cost $5 or less (Usually around $2.50-$3.00).
